In March of this year, Gaynor's new single, "Just Keep Thinkin’ About You," topped the Billboard Dance/Club charts at #1, spanning a career of nearly 30 years on the charts. It was Gloria Gaynor who made history in 1973, as Billboard gave birth to a new chart....The Disco Action Charts. It was, again, Gloria Gaynor who had the very first #1 Dance song in the history of Dance music, as "Never Can Say Good-Bye" bowed at #1. History has a way of repeating itself, as Gloria Gaynor made a claim at #1 once again...the name of the charts may have changed....but the beat is the same!

The summer of 2001 marked the first time in nearly a decade that Gloria Gaynor released a full length, major U.S. label CD on Logic/BMG Records. Her popularity overseas has always flourished, with International hits as 2000’s "Last Night" with Giorgio Moroder that went #1 all over Europe. A musical icon, Gloria Gaynor was first discovered by yet another icon, Clive Davis, formerly head of MGM Records. Davis had auditioned Gaynor three times before signing her...that third time was the charm, giving birth to a legend that continues to cross generations like no other. pop culture never could say goodbye to the woman who is still as strong and well-known as her anthem for the ages to come, "I Will Survive." VH-1 honored Gloria Gaynor in October 2000, during a countdown of the 100 Dance Records of All Time. At the top of the charts was none other than, "I Will Survive." These days Gaynor is just as busy performing now as she was in the ’70s, ‘80s and ’90s. Now with the new millennium in full swing, she’s hotter than ever! In 1999, she made a splashy appearance for a two-week stint on Broadway in the longest running musical revue, "Smokey Joe’s Cafe."

Gloria Gaynor also performed in over 80 countries and made appearances at international and national sporting events. She’s been spotlighted in VH-1’s Hottest show, "Behind The Music," as well. The French World Cup Soccer Team appointed her as their official "Godmother" because her inspiring, uplifting music. Numerous dignitaries have had the pleasure of seeing her perform; President Clinton, Princess Grace, Prince Rainier, Pope John Paul II and numerous Governors and Ambassadors.

The first and only Grammy Award for "Best Disco Recording" was given to Gloria Gaynor in 1980, for 1979’s, "I Will Survive." Another first for her was that she was the first to record an album especially for clubs, "Never Can Say Goodbye," and the first to do a mega-extended dance medley party mix, releasing 12’ dance singles that are now high-end collectors items. She has proven to be a multimedia success with her 1998 autobiography, "I Will Survive" (St. Martin’s Press), a revelatory trip through life’s journey of hard lessons, tough times and survival. If that isn’t enough, Gloria Gaynor is constantly being compared to a modern day Audrey Hepburn. Her numerous charities include the United Cerebral Palsy Organization, The Rita Hayworth Gala for Alzheimer’s, Revlon’s Annual Walk for Life, The Michael Bolton Foundation, Whitney Houston’s Foundation, and countless others. Among other things, she has also embarked on a modeling career, signing with the prestigious, Wilhelmina Modeling Agency in New York. During the 1999-2000 TV season, Gloria guest starred in two FOX television series, "That ‘70s Show" and the wildly popular, "Ally McBeal." Also, 2000, saw her song, "I Will Survive," on the soundtrack of more than half a dozen feature films. Can there be anything else to add to her plate?
